National Iranian American Day of Service – soon

Posted on February 28, 2012

noroozInteresting, I didn’t know this kind of thing is being celebrated in the U.S. Silly me.

In just five short days, hundreds of Iranian Americans across the country will be participating in the 2nd Annual National Iranian American Day of Service.

The Iranian New Year, Norooz, is a time of year to celebrate family, friends and the rebirth of nature.  It’s also a time for spring cleaning ‘khouneh tekouni’ and, according to some, setting the tone for the year ahead.

Last year, for the first time, hundreds of Iranian Americans from across the nation came together to give back all in the spirit of Norooz.

The 2nd Annual National Iranian American Day of Service seems like a good chance to share Iran’s culture to Americans, and also, as the organizers believe, make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Well, good. Something positive for a change. On March 3rd the celebrations will start.
